No Stranger to Texas

Head Basketball Coach Gary DeCesare is no stranger to Texas high school basketball. In 1993, he  led the Bronx, NY St. Raymond's High School into Texas where they participated in the 1993 American Airlines Shootout with  match games against Arlington Martin HS TX. and FW Dunbar TX. He led that legendary school to City and/or State titles in 1991, 1993, 2000, and 2001 before he moved to the windy city of Chicago. Coach has an aggregate current head coaching record of 396-197 in 22 years. He has led St. Rita for 5 years with a sterling 108-58 record.

Coach Gary graduated from Iona College and moved into high school basketball shortly after that. He has coached such players as Terence Rencher, (Univ. of Texas), Kareem Reid (Univ of Arkansas,) Julius Hodge (NC State), Francisco Garcia (Louisville,) Allan Ray Villanova, and current player Charles Matthews at Univ. of Kentucky plus another 40 DI players.
