2016 Brackets Released

Ranked Teams Participate

The 2016 Whataburger Invitational Tournament version of "Heading to State" brackets were released yesterday to all participating teams. "We feel this is the most competitive tournament in the State of Texas,  if not the nation. Texas has the best coaching and teams in the country along with the most Division One athletes nationwide." Tournament Director Tom Rogers says.

The Orange Division is loaded again with defending Arkansas State Champion and currently ranked #1 Little Rock Parkview heading the field along with defending Tournament Champion and Class 6A State Champion DeSoto. Other ranked teams participating are Austin Westlake, Round Rock McNeil, North Crowley, Amarillo Tascosa, Killeen Shoemaker, Lakeview Centennial, Mansfield Lake Ridge, and Mansfield Timberview. Don't count out the likes among others Denton Guyer, Trinity, past champions Plano West and Arlington Martin, Richland, and Richardson Pearce . 

The Girls Blue Division is loaded with ranked teams in Class 4A thru 2A along with Private Schools. We have 4 defending State Champions participating in 3A Wall, 6A Private Argyle Liberty Christian, 5A Private Dallas Christian, and 4A Private FW Lake Country Christian. Teams whom are currently ranked looking to take the Champion Trophy away from returning defending champion LaVega will be Liberty Hill, Abilene Wylie, Kennedale, Stephenville, Jim Ned, Little River Academy, Panhandle, Christoval, Ponder, Sanger, and Seminole.

The Boys Blue Division is ultra competitive also. Team looking to seize the 2016 trophy from returning and defending champion Abilene Wylie will be highly ranked teams from Argyle, Burkburnett, Brock, Ponder, Peaster, Wall, Jarrell, Bowie, Decatur, and 2015 state 2A runnerup Muenster. Don't count out  last year's tournament runnerup Liberty Hill along with  Seminole, Central Heights, Liberty Christian,  and Kennedale when the tourney tips off on December 27 at 10:00am either.
